DSA2008
the Defence Services Asia 2008 was held from 21 - 24 April 2008 at the PWTC.. i’m not sure how it goes cos i spent the last 8 days (19 - 26 April) at the KLIA doing my part as the receiving team for the VIPs..
the receiving team main function was to ensure that our VIPs get a proper welcome treatment.. we must make sure that the VIPs waiting rooms are in order with all the refreshments.. but thats not all.. we also have to make sure that the VIPs AOs (Accompany Officers) & LOs (Liason Officers) to be at the KLIA before the VIPs arrival time.. we are also to make sure that the ROs (Receiving Officers) are there to receive the VIPs and accompany them to the VIPs room while waiting for their passport and baggages to be clear..
my work at the KLIA starts as early as 6.00am and ends as late as 12.00 midnight.. on several occasions, my duties extended to 3.00am.. it all depends on the arrival & departure of the VIPs..
it was no smooth jobs through out the week.. miscommunications occurred far too often between us and the AOs/LOs.. even some of the AOs/LOs do not know their job scope and procedure.. not to mention that the PDRM-KLIA give us some headache on few occasions.. but at the end of it, i can proudly say it’s a job well done for the receiving team.. thank you all..
last but not least.. special thanks to Mr. Abdul Jabar - our most experienced duty officer for sharing his knowledge and experience with us.. this is his last formal contributions to DSA.. he will reach the compulsory retirement age in June 2008.. thank you Cif!
